Low energy lifestyle attracts Sue and Brian
Brian Wooding, and his partner Sue Flack, have moved into a three bedroom, three storey home on Portside Street, and were welcomed by Pete Conboy from Blueprint, the specialist regeneration developers of the Trent Basin scheme.
Brian and Sue’s new home, located on the lip of the Basin, has a terrace which opens out on to the stunning views of the inland dock as well as the cityscape to the north.
Brian said: “We have downsized from a 4 bedroom Edwardian property in Mapperley Park. The environmentally friendly, low energy living was one of the main reasons for moving here. It was a big consideration for us. We liked the concept of the housing and were interested in Blueprint’s other sustainable developments at Green Street in the Meadows and Hobart & Pitcairn but the timing wasn’t right for us. So we have kept a keen eye on Trent Basin before building even started.”
Location was another reason why the couple chose to move to Trent Basin. “We came along to the launch of the new show home to see how far the development had come. We like its riverside location and the fact that the Basin is a major part of the overall design. How many places in Nottingham have this right on their doorstep?” he added.
