Trent Basin, the new Nottingham waterside neighbourhood, designed by the award-winning developer, Blueprint, has appointed a new interior designer to help shape the style of its new show home, planned for Phase 3 of the development.

Nikki Deakin of ND Interior Design, based in Derbyshire, will take on the role, with immediate effect, in order to plan ahead for the opening of the show home in Spring next year, and to lend her views and advice on upcoming interior designs trends that will influence our styling choices for the months ahead.

Rachel Hopwell is Head of Customer Experience at Blueprint: “We are committed to supporting fantastic local businesses so spent some considerable time researching interior designers based across the East Midlands, before we appointed ND Designs. Trent Basin has a very distinct personality and we needed to be assured that any designer that came on board really understood that and was able to project that character and culture into plans for the new Phase 3 show home and more. Nikki impressed us with her passion and her creative plans – we are delighted to have her join the team.”

Nikki is equally delighted to start the role and has already been inspired by the location and the vibe created by this new community: “As soon as you arrive at Trent Basin, you truly get a feel for the space. Contemporary with an industrial twist and an evident culture of sustainability and links with the waterside and green spaces that thrive there. Interior design plans must build on and reflect that persona and be set to inspire those that visit.

“I have already started to construct my mood boards for the project, just so that I can get all my thoughts, ideas and influences onto a visual medium that I can share. But I also intend to source fabrics, furnishings, artwork and more from local designers, manufacturers and artists to showcase their work in the new showhouse at Trent Basin and demonstrate what a rich creative talent there is to find in our region.”

Phase 3 of the Trent Basin development is currently under construction and will compromise of 31 new homes — a mix of two, three- and four-bedroom properties to suit a range of buyers. The first homes will be ready to move into from Spring 2021. Those interested in being the first to hear about these properties and their release dates, can email trentbasin@edenpr.co.uk and keep an eye on the website at www.trentbasin.co.uk.
