A beautiful riverside location

Trent Bain is a place of calm. It’s a place of blue water and green space that’s close to the city without being in it, promoting healthy living and sustainability.

Reconnecting the city with the river, the development sits on the north bank of the Trent to the south east of the city. Right at the centre of this development is a historic inland dock – a reminder of the area’s importance when it came to distributing goods across the Midlands that would arrive down the river by boat.

With open views over the Hook Nature Reserve in Lady Bay, Trent Basin is only 10 minutes by bike to the railway station, the city centre and West Bridgford for access to restaurants, cafes and shopping. It plays a major role in the Nottingham Waterside regeneration project – a development that stretches out over 250 acres of land, making it one of the biggest of its kind in Europe.

Breathing life back into this historic area

Trent Lane Depot was Nottingham’s largest Trent – side cargo facility – and indeed the largest on the Trent. There were three others in Nottingham, at Colwich, Wilford Street and Meadow Lane, the latter located just a short distance away between Trent bridge and Lady Bay Bridge. But it was the massive new Trent Lane Depot, on the other side of Lady Bay Bridge, which made the biggest statement about Nottingham as a trading city.
